Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is based on the 2009 computer-animated film of the same name. The player is cast as Flint Lockwood, an aspiring inventor who tries to solve the hunger problem in his town by creating a machine that turns water into food. Soon, the machine is out of control, and it literally is raining food on Flint's town. It's up to him to stop the machine and get rid of the abundance of food. To make matters worse however, the machine is now protected by mutated food.

The player has to fight and puzzle their way through twenty levels, using Flint's self created gadgets such as a hair dryer converted into a heat gun, which can be used to melt obstacles composed of ice cream, or a mechanical boxing glove to punch food. Each level features thirty specific destroyable food items. Destroying all of them unlocks a piece of a blueprint for a special item.

The game also features a co-op mode, since a second player can join in anytime as Flint’s pet monkey Steve.

The Club is an organization that recruits "outsiders" to fight in an underground bloodsport. Those "outsiders" come from every possible corner of the earth but have one thing in common: they are good at killing people.

Eight characters with different skills await the player. Renwick for example is an ex-cop which is rather balanced in the skills speed, strength and stamina. Once the decision has been made, the tournament needs to be chosen. Set for example in a Stahlwerk in Germany, each tournament consists of six rounds. Each round has a different objective. The sprint challenge for example requires the player to race to the exit before time runs out. The siege challenge instead requires the player to survive for a certain amount of time in a limited space.

But all challenges have one thing in common: The player looks at his character's back and shoots his way through hordes of enemies. For each kill, the player gets points and builds up a combo-multiplier. How many points the player gets depends on how high the multiplier is, where he hit the enemy and if he performed a special action before the kill like breaking through a door or jumping through a window. Each kill increases the multiplier by one but if the player waits too long between kills, it decreases. The higher it was at the last kill, the faster it will decrease.

The game also features 8 different multiplayer-modes. These include normal Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch as well as modes like Team Fox Hunt in which the teams need to kill the fox of the enemy team in order to win

Mike Krzyzewski, the lifetime coach of the Duke University basketball team, endorses this NCAA-licensed spin-off from the NBA Live engine. The game includes 32 NCAA teams (including K's own Duke Blue Devils and the 1994 NCAA Champions Arkansas Razorbacks), as well as eight classic teams, but the license does not include player names.

There are three game modes: Season, Tournament (with three save slots for both) and Exhibition, and options follow the standard set from the NBA Live series. Gameplay also remains unchanged, with the typical three basic actions (fast running/steal, pass and shoot/block for A, B and C buttons) and the ability to call moves on the fly by pressing one of the buttons along Start (three or six moves can be set, depending on the joypad used).
