Forza Motorsport
Forza Motorsport is a racing game with extensive customizability, similar to the Gran Turismo series. There are 30 tracks and over 230 cars with a unique feel that can be modified to the smallest details, from spoilers to decals, and the option to create your own shapes with 100 different layers for a single car. Every single part influences the car behaviour - even the G-forces are taken into account, with a realistic damage model.
The game modes include a career mode with different classes, time trials, free runs and arcade races. In the career mode, winning races unlocks manufacturer relationships and you can earn money to buy new cars or customize your vehicles. This mode is expanded over Xbox Live with human opponents.
Forza also includes Drivatar technology, where you can train the computer AI to copy your driving skills (the way you approach corners, the amount of brake applied) and then let the AI race for you to move quickly past certain courses. Over Xbox Live, you can organize your own competitions, start a car club with a team of drivers, exchange cars, download ghost cars to improve your race times, compete on over 1400 leaderboards and acquire new car setups.

Forza Motorsport 2
Forza Motorsport 2 is the sequel to the original racing game Forza Motorsport. There is more focus on circuit racing and the point-to-point races have been removed.
There are 12 tracks in 47 different configurations (both fictional and existing) and over 300 cars with a unique feel that can be modified to the smallest details, mechanical and cosmetic. Cars are classified as Production Cars or Race Cars divided over different classes. Every mechanical part influences the car behaviour and sound, stressing the focus on realism. There are 3 settings: Simulation (large impact of crashes), Limited (light crashes and only a small amount of damage) and Cosmetic (only visible damage, not affecting the car's performance).

Forza Motorsport 3
The third installment of the Forza Motorsport series now offers you over 400 cars from car manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, McLaren and Pagani. All these cars have been rendered with ten times the number of polygons that were used in its predecessor.
The single player mode comes in the form of a racing calender that consists of several types of racing from basic drag and circuit races to more skillful drift events. These will take place on real life circuits that include the German Nürburgring (Nordschleife and F1 circuit), Silverstone in the UK, America's Luguna Seca and Japan's Suzuka circuit.
The game's multiplayer allows you to create your own race modes, based on eight pre-set variants that consist of a single race, timed race, point-to-point, drift, multi class, tag, cat & mouse and elimination.

Forza Motorsport 4
Forza Motorsport 4 is the fourth installment in the Xbox exclusive race simulation series. It holds many car and race licenses and allows players to race in a realistic setting. The main career mode is now called World Tour Mode and takes players to different races on locations all over the world. Opponents now have adaptable AI based on the player's performance. A lower difficulty also no longer leads to less power for the opponents' cars. Instead, they are given less confidence going into corners. This means that players are encouraged to outbrake them instead rather than overtakes on a straight section. Next to the original races, known game modes such as bumper to bumper, drift, autocross, and multiple-heat are still present. In the rivals mode players race against friends and online players, even when they are offline, by trying to beat the time of their ghosts. Players earn credits by beating them at different events, and the bonus is determined by the rival's position on the leaderboard and the size of the board.
Cars no longer level up like in a previous entries. Instead, players receive manufacturer specific upgrades, called affinity levels. There are 50 levels for each manufacturer and they apply to all cars for that certain manufacturer, regardless of the specific car. There are three new real races added to the franchise: Hockenheimring, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Infineon Raceway, along with a fictional one: Bernese Alps. Compared to previous versions the amount of simultaneous players has been doubled from 8 to 16, both offline and online. Players can create clubs and share cars in garages among club members.
Players can import their Forza Motorsport 3 profile and transfer in-game credits and gifted cars. Next to the classic controller mechanism, gestures-based control is also available through support for the Kinect peripheral. Kinect is used to change the perspective based on head tracking (looking in a certain direction) while steering is done by moving hands in the air while acceleration and braking is done automatically. Both control mechanisms can be combined to navigate cars with a regular controller together with the Kinect-based head tracking. A feature called Autovista allows players to walk around and explore a vehicle using Kinect. It is however only available for a limited amount of cars.
