the Game of Harmony
The Game of Harmony DOS Front Cover  The Game of Harmony DOS Back Cover

This strategic action puzzle game features original gameplay. You control a spacecraft situated on a globe which you can rotate and move around the screen. You must knock globes into others of the same colour, to rid the screen of all the globes. The screen has no borders, so globes can be pushed off the side of the screen, increasing your tactical range. Knocking globes of different colors into each other produces smaller pods which need to be picked up quickly, giving you energy, or they will turn into globes and you will have to get rid of them too. Many of the globes are linked to other globes (or the ship) via string, and the level layouts include barriers as obstacles (and ricochet points), making the Newtonian physics more complex.

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones is an episodic adventure game series that consists of six installments that were released between December 2014 and October 2015. The six episodes are:
It is based on both on the original fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire and the HBO TV series adaptation. From the TV series it takes the appearance and voice acting of famous characters such as Cersei Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, Ramsay Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and Margaery Tyrell. It also takes place concurrently with the TV series, starting at the moment of the Red Wedding at the end of the third season and following the events just up to the start of the fifth season. It does not expand upon or contradict the TV series, as it focuses mainly on House Forrester. It is a family not yet mentioned in the TV series, but briefly mentioned in the fifth book A Dance with Dragons. As such it is a spin-off and does not deliberately break the canon as the book does not contain any detailed information about House Forrester, but it introduces the Forrester viewpoint for many prominent characters and events. The game is set mainly in the Wolfwood region, known for its forest and carpentry supplying the other Houses, and especially the fortress Ironrath. Other prominent locations are also present, such as King's Landing or the Wall, and many others on the continents of Westeros and Essos.

The game starts with the demise of the Starks at the Red Wedding, where Lord Gregor Forrester, a Stark bannerman, and his heir Rodrik are killed by the Freys. Gregor Forrester's squire Gared Tuttle manages to escape and returns to Ironrath. The young Ethan Forrester unexpectedly becomes the new Forrester lord and has to deal with the difficult new allegiance with Ramsay Snow, the new Warden of the North, and the invasive influence of House Whitehill. King's Landing with Cersei and Tyrion is introduced through Mira Forrester, handmaiden of Margaery. Each episode is split up in multiple storylines each with different characters to control. Gared ends up at the Wall where he meets Jon Snow. Ethan's older and exiled brother Asher is the one to travel to Mereen to find support against House Whitehill meeting Daenerys. Mira in King's Landing experiences most of the political intrigues as she is dragged into the conflict between Cersei and Margaery. Other prominent characters are Ethan's twin Talia and his little brother Ryon, Lady Forrester and her brother Malcolm Branfield. Information about the character is stored in a codex with bios, accessible from the main and pause menu.

The gameplay is typical of previous Telltale games focusing on choices and consequences. Most of the gameplay consists of conversations where the player has to choose between dialogue options. Choices are remembered and important ones are carried over across episodes, leading to branching stances for the relations with the different characters. Most of the conversation options have a time limit and if none is chosen, silence or a neutral stance is activated. For a small amount of important decisions there is no time limit. There are some sections with free movement where characters can freely explore to initiate conversations and examine the environment. Objects and characters that can be interacted with are highlighted with a white circle showing options. There are no puzzles, but in some cases it is possible to pick up items, stored on the left side of the screen, that can then be used in later situations. There are some action sequences with Quick Time Events. If these are not performed correctly or fast enough, characters can die and a part has to be replayed. Some other small interactions are also available, usually based on a dragging and holding mechanic. After completing an episode a rewind function becomes available to return to an earlier part of an episode and try new choices.

This game entry covers the full season release of the game. For PC for instance individual episodes cannot be purchased, only the full season. The PlayStation and Xbox One versions offer a full season pass for all six episodes as well as individual purchases. For Xbox 360, Android and iOS users always need to purchase the first episode and then the others individually or as season pass for episodes two to six. The Xbox One version also has this option.

Retail release for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles marked as Season Pass Disc contains first five episodes on the disc, with ability to freely download episode six, accessible from the in-game's episode listing, while the same retail release for Xbox 360 and Xbox One only contains first episode on the disc and requires the remaining five to be downloaded.

the Games Summer Challenge
Summer Challenge DOS Front Cover Summer Challenge DOS Back Cover

The sequel to Winter Challenge, this Summer edition includes 8 events from athletics to cycling. The events are:
  • Kayak: The player goes on a downhill stream, and must navigate through gates without missing or touching them (unlike the real event, there are no reverse gates), as well as avoiding to hit the margins of the stream. Pushing forward paddles, pressing a direction along a button allows a sharper turn. The winner is the one with the fastest time after penalty time is added
  • Archery: Each competitor has four targets, each with three arrows. By moving the directional buttons the player moves the erratic crosshair, while pressing a button fires the arrow.
  • 400m Hurdles: The player does a full lap on the track by pressing the first button to set the pace and the second to jump. Mistiming the jump either makes the athlete knock the hurdle and lose a few tenths of second, or goes completely off-balance and falls, ending the event
  • High Jump and Pole Vault: Two similar events where the player starts by setting the bar height, and then mashing the power button to build enough speed. Then, just before the jump point the action button must be pressed and held until the athlete is in position to pass over the bar. The contest ends once there are three misses at an height, or the maximum height is cleared.
  • Equestrian: The most technical event, the player must steer the horse to the best trajectory while jumping over hurdles and walls. While a knockdown means a time penalty in the end, if the horse refuses to do a jump (if the button is pressed too soon or too late) the competition ends immediately.
  • Javelin: A simple event where each player has three attempts to launch the javelin as far as possible. To do so, first some speed must be built, and a few steps before the mark start pressing the action button to start the launch sequence, which initiates the angle measure. Once the player releases the button (ideally at an angle between 40 and 45 degrees next to the mark), the javelin is released as well
  • Cycling: In this sprint event the player must complete a number of laps in the velodrome, while keeping as fast and as close as possible to the inner edge without falling.
Like with Winter Challenge, graphically, the game features the same polygonal environments with bitmap athletes and game modes include the ability to train or compete in a tournament (up to ten human players, with three computer levels and 16 nations to choose from). It's also possible to replay and even store your best (or worst) moments.

the Games Winter Challenge
The Games: Winter Challenge DOS Front Cover  The Games: Winter Challenge DOS Back Cover

An Olympiad game simulating common winter game competitions - the Downhill, Giant Slalom, Luge, 2-men Bobsled, Ski Jump, Cross Country, Biathlon and Speed Skating.

The game features a basic 3D engine which allows to simulate slopes with ease, which enhances the gameplay of some events such as the Downhill. Gameplay, as expected from a Winter sports game, relies on finding the faster trajectories in most events (Downhill, Giant Slalom, Luge and Bobsled), pacing the run correctly (Cross Country and Biathlon), skill and timing (Ski Jump), with button mashing reserved for just one (speed skating). The player (up to ten) can select his (or her) competitor face and nationality from one of 16 possible choices, and by selecting different difficulty settings, different computer controlled athletes take part in the competition along the player.
