Ratchet & Clank
Ratchet & Clank is a platform action game in a similar vein to the 3D versions of the Rayman, Sonic, Mario, or other comparable games. It involves the two protagonists Ratchet, a furry alien creature, and Clank, a nerdy little robot, going on a quest to find Captain Qwark and ultimately to help save the galaxy.
Ratchet & Clank includes many of the common features seen in previous similar games, but distinguishes itself in a number of ways. The game's levels are fairly vast and contain detailed structures which are visible at all times (i.e. there is no distance fog). The game also includes a number of prominently featured mini-games, such as a space fight sequence and a number of turret shoot-outs which are akin to Missile Command in the first person.
The game has over twenty levels (planets) and includes as many cutscenes made with in-game graphics which tell the story. Also of note is that the story is non-linear, requiring the player to return to previous levels to complete objectives and to choose between multiple paths forward. There is also a respectable array of weapons, gadgets, and accessories to find or buy as the game progresses, which offer some unique gameplay features.

Ratchet & Clank : Up Your Arsenal
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal is a 3rd-person action platformer, and third game in the Ratchet & Clank series by Insomniac Games.
After word spreads of Ratchet and Clank's recent conquest in Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, Clank finds himself recognized as an interstellar robot of mystery and intrigue after starring in his own television series, Secret Agent Clank. While Ratchet is dismayed by his new sidekick status, the feelings are put aside when the twosome is called together by the Galactic President to bring peace to the universe. They find themselves traveling back to Planet Veldin to battle Dr. Nefarious, a robotic super villain who has devised a diabolical scheme to wipe out all organic life in the galaxy.
Most of the time the player controls Ratchet but occasionally the player takes control of Clank. Gameplay includes platforming but for the most part shooting up or beating up various enemies including robots, aliens, vehicles and bosses. The game features an extensive arsenal of weapons including various guns, and beat 'em up weapons that can be leveled up, increasing their power and magazine. During play, better body armor comes available and can be purchased. On the Starship Phoenix the player can also play on a video game console like device as Captain Qwark, telling the history between Qwark and Dr. Nefarious in a number of 2D side-scrolling levels.

Ratchet & Clank Future : a Crack in Time
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is the final installment in Insomniac's Ratchet and Clank Future trilogy, following Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty.
During the events of the two previous games, Clank is kidnapped by the mysterious Zoni, led by the evil mastermind Dr. Nefarious, leaving Ratchet feeling all alone in the gigantic universe. Along with Captain Quark and Talwyn, he sets out on a quest to save Clank from Nefarious' clutches. Along the way he discovers the truth about his Lombax past and the secrets of time held within the Great Clock.
The gameplay is the same as in the rest of the puzzle-solving platformers of the series. Ratchet travels to different planets, smashing boxes for bolts and upgrading the various weapons in his arsenal, whilst defeating enemies and using gadgets such as hoverboots and the slingshot.
The game features some new gameplay mechanics however, such as space flying and the ability to manipulate time. Ratchet can fly his ship freely through space, allowing him to stop on moons and acquire the special items that they hold. Clank now has the power to manipulate time: with a new staff he is able to rewind time and record his actions to aid him tricking bad guys and solving puzzles.
